Circa 1900 handwoven silk created uchikake kimono with yuzen-dyeing technique that has been converted to a utilitarian robe. It is hand embroidered using ‘forbidden stitching” which is a knot stitch technique for stitching metallic and gold threads, damask and karakusa style pattern. Entirely silk and hand woven. A very special piece.
