Franco-American designer Pauline Trigère was the daughter of a Parisian tailor and a dressmaker who developed technical skill and craft in fashion design. She created American ready-to-wear to a high standard with timeless styles that have retained their fashion forward quality, today.
This two-piece ensemble is all silk with a suminagashi marbling inspired print. Along with the Japanese print is a piping collar that I like to think is also inspired by the Uchikake Kimono hems that are padded. The overall ensemble has a space age and modern quality that today is still very fashion forward.
